We'd love your support

Dear KopSun Allies,

SB County's Anti-Cannabis Campaign is absolutely relentless and shows no signs of slowing.

We need you to stand up for your rights once again on Tuesday, July 9 at the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Hearing.

We must be there to share our story and the facts because the small, but loud and aggressive opponents are pushing for further restrictions.

To push for onerous regulations those opposed to the industry are well financed, well organized and are spreading misinformation – attacking everyone in the industry, including you.

They seek to dismantle the lawful cultivation of cannabis by demanding the Board of Supervisors consider these onerous amendments to the cannabis ordinance before they are really tested for obvious reasons—they want to put us out of business before we really get started.

With your help and the help of everyone you know who are in or support the industry, we can stop this misleading effort.

Otherwise those opposed will speak for us and force the county to abandon the ordinance that was thoughtfully crafted after years of public input.

Please join us at this hearing and speak out. Here’s more information:

BOARD OF SUPERVISOR HEARING

9AM, Tuesday, July 9th

Betteravia Government Administration Building

511 East Lakeside Parkway

Santa Maria, CA

POTENTIAL ACTIONS AT THIS HEARING: At this hearing the Board will discuss how to further restrict cannabis activities including imposing a cap on licenses, acreage, as well as amendements to expand noticing requirements for cannabis activities in inland and coastal areas of the County. And they will also consider further regulations for cannabis activities on certain AG-I zoned lands in the inland area.

We must work together. We cannot let our industry lie dormant while the opponents continue to mount attacks on our business and our livelihoods.

Please know this is not a hyperbole: this is arguably the most important hearing on cannabis cultivation to date.

Your help could make the difference. Please read below on how you can help show the Board that the public supports the cannabis cultivation industry in Santa Barbara County and brings unparalleled economic opportunities to our county.

Opponents are organizing and are prepared to show up to the hearing in droves to request that the Board restrict issuance of new permits, implement a cap on the number of permits and acres grown per parcel, enforce a 2-mile buffer between cannabis farms and the Urban Rural boundary and require a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for all AG-II parcels within 2 miles of a residential area.

We (meaning all of us, including you, your friends and co-workers) must be present at the hearing in order to strongly and thoughtfully oppose these continued requests to amend the Ordinance.

Thank you. If you have any questions, please respond to this email.
